Welcome to Franklin Upholstery.
Proprietor Stephen Franklin, is a Traditional Upholsterer with over 48 years of experience in undertaking all aspects of Upholstery and Specialist Fabric-walling both nationally and internationally.
Stephen has expert knowledge and provides the highest quality upholstery services including restoration of upholstered antique furniture and contemporary pieces using both traditional and modern methods and suitable high quality materials. Stephen is also an expert in fabric wall covering and tented ceilings. Bespoke items can be made to order, to suit individual requirements.
Stephen is a Freeman and Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Upholders and a Fellow, Director and Assessor of The Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers
Stephen has been given the Freedom of the City of London and is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Upholders - an ancient Livery Company of the City of London.
Stephen is also a member of The Furniture History Society, The Georgian Group, Historic Houses Association and the Heritage Craft Association.
On the 9th April 2015 at the Carpenters Hall in London, Stephen Franklin had the honour of being the first Liveryman in The Worshipful Company of Upholders to be given an Award of Excellence by the Master, Wardens and Court in recognition of his outstanding skill in the Craft of Upholstery and Soft Furnishings.
